Nha Trang Weather: Best Time to Visit Nha Trang

Being influenced by both the tropical coastal monsoon climate and oceanic climate, Nha Trang enjoys mild and comfortable weather all year round. The annual average temperature of the city is around 26℃ (78.8℉). Its dry season lasts from January to August when the city enjoys pleasant and airy weather, being very suitable for outdoor activities. Its rainy season is from September to December when the city sees a higher chance of rain, but this coastal city sees fewer storms than the northern cities.

The best time to visit Nha Trang is from February to late April when you can enjoy the moderate weather and a wide range of outdoor activities, and also avoid the crowded peak period.

July and August are the hottest months of the year, but the heat will not be as unbearable as in cities of North Vietnam thanks to the sea breeze.

How to Get to Nha Trang

Travelers can access Nha Trang by planes, trains, and tourist buses.

By Plane

Taking a place is the fastest way to get to Nha Trang from the majority of cities in Vietnam. The nearest airport is Cam Ranh Airport, about 35km away. It’s easy to take a direct flight to Nha Trang from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, and Da Nang.

You can either take a taxi or shuttle bus from the Cam Ranh Airport to Nha Trang city center. The taxi will cost about 13 USD and take about 45 minutes, and the shuttle bus ride will cost about 2.5 USD.

By Train

There are frequent daily trains connecting Nha Trang to major cities like Hanoi (12-20 hours), Ho Chi Minh City (an overnight train), Da Nang (8.5-12.5 hours), and Hue, and you can get off at the Khanh Hoa station.

By Bus

Long-distance buses to Nha Trang are of high quality with excellent service. From Ho Chi Minh City, it will be a 9 hours drive and cost about 6 USD. From Da Nang, the ticket price and travel time are similar to from Ho Chi Minh City. From Da Lat, there are 4 daily buses to Nha Trang, the trip is about 3-4 hours and costs about 6 USD.

How to Get around Nha Trang

There are plenty of options to travel around Nha Trang, the most popular ones include taxis, city buses, and motorcycle taxis.

The taxi fare in Nha Trang is about 14,000 VND for the first 3 kilometers, then 7,000 VND for every subsequent kilometer. For a bus ride, the price is no more than 16,000 VND per person. Taking a motorcycle taxi is a good way to admire the scenery along the road and make you feel more like a local. If you want to explore at your own pace, you can pay about 3-7 USD per day to rent a motorbike.
