Thailand Travel Restrictions in 2023/2024

SKIP AHEAD

Thailand has been easing the quarantine requirements for international travelers after months of strict travel restrictions imposed because of the rapid spread of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Travelers around the world are now eager to find out what they need to prepare before heading to Thailand in 2023.

Here’s what you need to know about Thailand travel restrictions if you plan to visit Thailand during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Travel to Thailand

Travelers entering Thailand may or may not be quarantined depending on their country of origin and vaccination status. The latest entry requirements below were introduced on May 1, 2022.

Fully Vaccinated Travelers

Fully vaccinated travelers are exempt from quarantine and are not asked to complete RT-PCR tests upon arrival. Unvaccinated children under the age of 18 are allowed to travel with fully vaccinated parents without being quarantined. But a Thailand pass is mandatory.

Foreigners who have been vaccinated need to provide proof of vaccination and a certificate of COVID-19 insurance when applying for a Thailand pass. Thai nationals flying to Thailand from other countries do not need insurance, just proof of vaccinations.

Unvaccinated travelers

Unvaccinated travelers who can provide negative PCR results within 72 hours won’t be required to be quarantined when entering Thailand and only need to upload their negative test results into the Thailand Pass system before boarding.

Those who failed to provide test results have to be quarantined for 5 days.
