Thailand announced a 60-day visa exemption policy for citizens of 93 countries and territories. Visitors for the purpose of tourism and short-term business activities can apply for an extension of stay for a further period not exceeding 30 days, for a total stay of up to 90 days.
Preparation for Entry

Ensure that the passport is valid for more than 6 months and is not visibly damaged.

Provide air ticket and hotel order information.
- Cash
Random checks may be conducted upon arrival, so it is recommended that individuals carry THB10,000 and families carry THB20,000.

Visa Type
Ordinary passport travelers can choose a Visa on Arrival (VOA) or apply for Visa Exemption in advance, depending on the situation.
1. Visa Exemption
Travelers from visa-free countries must apply for an ETA within 24 hours prior to your arrival through the the official website https://www.thaievisa.go.th/. There is no charge for ETA, but it is required for each entry into Thailand.
Visa-free entry process:
- After getting off the plane, go to the visa-free channel;
- Follow the airport signs to passport control immigration and hand over your passport;
- After customs, go to baggage claim to pick up your luggage.
2. Visa on Arrival (VOA)
Thailand will allow citizens of 31 countries and territories to apply for a VOA at immigration checkpoints on arrival. Under the program, tourists can stay for up to 15 days for tourism purposes. The visa fee is THB2,000.
Financial Requirements
You are required to bring cash or the equivalent in foreign currency upon entry into Thailand, the amount of which varies depending on the type of visa. Visitors with tourist visas are generally required to carry THB10,000 or the equivalent in foreign currency.

Don’t bring gambling supplies, meat products, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as electronic cigarettes into the country.
