  1. Welcome to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat. Upon arrival at the airport, a responsible driver will escort you to the hotel for check-in.

    In the evening, enjoy dinner with a traditional Apsara Show, a royal dance performance known for elegant gestures and colorful costumes.

  2. At around 7:00 am, avoiding the crowds, we head to Ta Prohm for a visit. This temple offers a spectacle of huge tree roots entwining the temple building. Continue your visit to Angkor Wat, which was once the capital of the ancient Khmer Kingdom and is now preserved with more than 600 historic sites. Ubiquitous megalithic carvings and intricate reliefs will feast your eyes.

    After lunch, explore the mysterious Angkor Thom. It was the last capital of the Khmer Empire, repeatedly destroyed by war and rebuilt, and is the "heart" of Angkor monuments. The city has a total of five gates, above which are four Buddha statues facing all directions.

    From the south gate to the north to the center of the city, you will see the Bayon Temple, a magnificent and important building where you'll find the famous carving of the Khmer Smile. Further, visit the Baphuon Temple, Elephant Terrace, Terrace of Lepper King and Royal Place area.

  3. Take the morning flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival at the airport, your private guide will pick you up and drive you to your hotel. After a short break, we begin our tour of the Cambodian capital.

    Take a guided tour to learn about the Khmer Rouge's tragic past. Killing Fields of Choeung Ek was once a concentration camp during the Khmer Rouge regime. There is a stupa, housing skulls excavated from tombs in memory of innocent souls. Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum is a former high school that was used as a prison camp during the Khmer Rouge era. You can see all kinds of torture tools, photos and cultural and historical materials, from which you will get further insight into the brutal past of the Khmer Rouge.

  4. After breakfast, your guide will take you to Wat Ounalom, Phnom Penh's most important monastery and the center of Cambodian Buddhism. It consists of 44 buildings, including a stupa said to preserve the eyebrows of Sakyamuni. Then move forward to Wat Phnom - a tranquil, 30-meter-high temple filled with Khmer-style relief sculptures. You can climb to the top of the pagoda to get a commanding view of the city.

    After saying goodbye to Cambodia, fly to Bangkok. Upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your driver and transferred to your hotel for check-in and rest.

  5. Today, your guide will accompany you on a tour of Bangkok's famous city sights, such as the Royal Grand Palace (a dazzling building complex surrounded by well-maintained verdant gardens), the Emerald Buddha, and the Wat Pho (one of the largest and oldest wats in Bangkok housing over 1,000 Buddha images).

    After lunch at a local restaurant, your guide takes you on a ferry to Wat Arun, an ancient temple enjoying the reputation of the "Eiffel Tower of Thailand". Finally, visit Wat Traimit, a royal temple famous for its largest solid gold Buddha image in the world.

  6. You will be assigned a Silom Thai cooking class in the morning. Take a guided tour to a local market to shop for fresh ingredients. A professional chef will teach you how to distinguish Thai spices and how to make authentic Thai dishes.

    After a self-made lunch, fly to Chiang Mai for a fresh start.

  7. Take a tuk-tuk to today's first stop - Wat Pra Singh, Chiang Mai's second oldest Buddhist temple, built in 1345. Afterwards, move to Wat Chedi Luang, which is the location of the largest Buddhist pagoda in Chiang Mai. After the tour, head to Warorot Market. It is the largest and most well-known market in northern Thailand. You can find local fruits, snacks, tea, clothes, etc.

    In the afternoon, drive you to Doi Suthep Temple. It is the holiest temple in northern Thailand, and every local elementary school student knows its founding legend. Built in 1383, the temple is dedicated to a bone from the shoulder of the historic Buddha. Return to the hotel after the tour.

  8. Today we will head southwest for an hour and a half to Elephant Village. Walk over the yellow Iron Bridge and the rice fields to a hilltop camp. Put on a Karen Tribe T-shirt and you will have an exploration of the jungle.

    Your guide will lead you through the daily lives of elephants and give you a chance to get up close and personal with them. Bath elephants under the guidance of professionals, and roam freely with elephants in the wild...

    Later, capture a panoramic view of the village from the hilltop's open-air balcony while enjoying a delicious lunch. Return to Chiang Mai around 2:00 PM.

    Your 8-day Cambodia & Thailand trip ends here. Depart Chiang Mai for your onward flight. Wish you a comfortable journey!
