This is a short getaway to Kyaikto which is known for the eye-catching Golden Rock. Only 200 km away from Yangon, this tour is ideal for those who want a short escape around Yangon. Before getting to Kyaikto Mountain, you will have close contact with the lovely wild elephants and see them freely graze in the lush jungle. Then, a thrilling open-air trunk ride will take you to Golden Rock which is sitting above a steep cliff. From there, relax yourself with the surreal sunset and devout atmosphere of the Golden Rock Temple.

Itinerary
After breakfast, hop on a car and drive to Wingabaw Elephant Resort Camp in the rural Bago region. The camp is home to a family of 14 wild elephants. On arrival at 9:00 am, watch a dancing show from the elephants, try to feed these adorable giants, trek through a nearby forest to see them grazing in the wildlife habitat, and be better informed about this kind of treasured animal in Myanmar.
After a fun time with the lovely giants, enjoy a short lunch break and drive 2.5 hours along the scenic route to Golden Rock templeon top of Kyaikto mountain.
We will first reach the base camp at the mountain foot, and from there, hop on an open-air truck and drive 45 minutes up to the last stop at Kyaikto village. Check in a hotel on the hilltop which is only 10 minutes walk from Golden Rock. Around sunset time, get to the Golden Rock sitting above a steep cliff. From here, completely relax your soul when you marvel at the rare view of the sparkling sunset and see lines of devout believers praying among little bells, burning candles, and incense.

After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to a local market in Kyeekanpasat (Mouth of Crow) village. You’ll find many stalls selling local products and fruits, and get a chance to buy some as souvenirs.
In the mid-morning, hop on the open-air truck again to get down the hill and return to the Kin Pun base. From there, your driver will transfer you back to Yangon.
After back to Yangon, check in at your hotel and prepare for further exploration in Myanmar. Or, if it is your last stop in Myanmar, the driver will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
