Itinerary
Welcome to Palangkaraya, known as the “Pearl of the Orient”, the center of Vietnam’s economy, culture, tourism and international trade. Upon your arrival at the airport, meet your driver and local guide and then you will be transferred to your 4-star hotel.
Welcome to the 6-day Borneo wildlife tour! After arriving in Palangkaraya (the largest city in the interior of Borneo, Kalimantan Island), a local guide and a driver will pick you up at the airport and give you a brief introduction to the upcoming adventure.
We first go to a comfortable local hotel to check in. After a brief rest, the driver will take you to the port to board a cruise ship and head upstream along the picturesque Rungan River. Along the way, we will pass by the Orangutans Islands, where you can witness these beautiful orangutans. They are different from bold and even arrogant chimpanzees, appearing shy and curious. When they see humans, they quickly hide behind the trees and secretly peek at you from among the branches and leaves.
When the sun begins to set, we return to the hotel.

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we begin today’s adventure deep into the center of Borneo. We will drive for 4 hours through vast plains and swampy forests.
Betung is our destination. This is a peaceful village, where time seems to stand still. After arriving, we transfer to a traditional boat along the Puning River.
Our final destination is Batilap Village, where you will spend the night in a floating stilt house. Talk to locals, learn about their lives, and enjoy a home-cooked dinner.

Today’s breakfast will be prepared by your hospitable host. Afterward, follow your professional tour guide into the lush rainforests of Borneo. The abundant sunshine and warm and humid environment make this the best place for a variety of plants and animals to inhabit.
You will learn about the biodiversity of the region, including wild chimpanzees, colorful birds, playful gibbons, and some unique flora and fauna.
In the afternoon, continue your adventure by taking a canoe along the peaceful river from the campsite. You may see small long-tailed macaques and many birds. Unlike proboscis monkeys, which live in the crowns of tall trees, their habitat is relatively low, so you have the opportunity to observe them up close.
After the sightseeing, return to the campsite by the river. Fall in sleep with the rustling sound of the jungle.

Enjoy a simple breakfast at the campsite. Today is another exciting exploration of Borneo’s wildlife. Cruising along the Buntal River, the jungle along the way will bring you various surprises. Be sure to have your camera ready, as you may encounter various exotic features at any time.
Later, transfer by car to a local village to explore some unique plants, such as the Black Orchids. The shape of this flower is similar to clam shell, with large and vibrant petals that are brown and purple in color, gradually darkening towards the center of the flower, and have bright purple veins.
Then, take a small boat through swampy forest. You can see water buffaloes swimming gracefully while enjoying the charming sunset.

We will be hiking at Dayak Village this morning. The traditional residences here are tall and long houses, built near the river. Your private tour guide will explain the traditional culture of the indigenous Dayak people and take you on a tour of waterfalls hidden in the jungle.
After lunch, enjoy a bamboo raft drifting along the Amandit River, passing through the center of the pristine tropical rainforest. The air here is moist, as if it can squeeze out water. This will be a unique experience.
At the downstream of the river, the driver will pick you up and escort you to Banjarmasin. This is a city where thousands of rivers converge, so many commercial activities take place on the water. Upon arrival, check in at a comfortable hotel in the local area.

The abundant and wide rivers have always had a significant impact on the way of life of local communities. Until every morning, farmers and merchants trade goods on boats, forming floating markets.
Your Indonesia trip today starts with visiting a local floating market. You can see various boats loaded with bananas, shrimp, fish, yams, spinach, coconuts, spices, and chili peppers. The boats kept swaying with the waves of the river, but women can manipulate their small boats flexibly and accurately. Local merchants exchange goods and currency here.
After visiting the market, your boat will cross the Martapura River and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the shore. Afterward, return to your hotel to enjoy cultural activities along the river, which may include handicrafts and traditional performances.
After the Borneo tour, your driver will transfer you to the airport to catch a flight to your next destination or back home. This is the end of your 6-day Indonesia tour package.
